Although Iā€™ve changed plans for a low-key post-glutening birthday, I feel incredibly grateful for my 11 years living in Australia, 10 years that Alex and I have been together and 3 years of Eloise. Itā€™s also humbling that after 13 years of being diagnosed with coeliac disease, it can still find its way onto my plate so surrendering to the fact that this autoimmune disease is a part of my life and thankful I know what makes me sick so I can almost šŸ˜… always avoid it šŸ˜˜

Have an amazing weekend to all my Yum Gluten Free friends. Thank you for supporting Yum all this time! The party is just getting started!!!

Owā€¦ Is it gluten? Is it garlic? Is it normal bloating? Also, am I the only who can never wear high waisted underwear because I feel sick with anything touching my stomach?

Iā€™ve been bloated with sore joints, brain fog and a headache for a day now and canā€™t have anything touching my stomach due to the bloating but also donā€™t have a stomachache so Iā€™m thrown šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Iā€™m sharing this with you to be transparent about how confusing coeliac disease can be. While Iā€™m not sure whatā€™s triggered this, Iā€™m surrendering to it and taking magnesium, drinking lots of water, Gevity Rx bone broth, lemon ginger tea, taking probiotics and asked Alex to tap in on the parent-front so I can rest.

Hoping all of the above will have me feeling 10/10 tomorrow šŸ˜“

Ow my gosh, I'm now going to be more conscious when I have stomach ache / discomfort, and or bloating, and see if it relates to the pants and waist bands, either during wearing them or post. Thanks for the insight, and sharing all.

The bigger your undies the better I say!! Comfort is the only way to go! Feel better soon

I’m not coeliac but this is very relatable. Gluten intolerance can also be very painful and sometimes I can’t tell what triggers pain and bloating.

I've found peppermint tea really helps when I'm like this and yes to the high waisted undies, I only wear hipster boyleg because I can't stand anything pushing on my belly.

I cannot have any grains or anything that is gluten cross reactive, even if it’s marked gluten free. We’re all different but this is what can cause this bloating & pain for me.

šŸ˜¢ ouchies. Hopefully you are feeling better tomorrow and the pains and bloating passes quickly.

I’m the same, don’t know the triggers, follow strict diet but still bloat like I’m pregnant!

The Sheila Perez method is an amazing treatment for this. It’s a specialized form of lymphatic drainage (eliminates fluids, detoxifies the body, stimulates bowel movements etc). A friend of mine is now a practitioner, absolutely amazing

What you have just described is exactly how I have been feeling for the last 2 days! I have IBS and are wheat and cows milk intolerant. Not sure what has triggered it this time!

Thank you for showing us the reality of gluten allergies & other IBS issues on the body. My 20 year old daughter is gluten & dairy free & suffers from bloating and sore stomach and sore muscles along with treatment for endometriosis. Heat packs are her friend when pain is too much.

I feel this 100%!! šŸ˜©

This is me everyday! Coeliac and IBS! I don’t wear anything that sits on my waist as it just makes me feel sick! I really cannot work out what my triggers are! Would love a solution šŸ˜ž

I can't wear pants anymore because I end up in excruciating pain by the end of the day. I didn't even think about it being a possibility of being coeliac related šŸ¤”

Take care get better soon

I can’t wear any pants that sit in the middle of my stomach especially with buttons or zips, they have to be either low rise or high under the ribs leggings only - the pain is too much šŸ¤¢ I find Nexium is my cure whenever I feel bloated from glutening or similar, it’s the only thing that provides relief šŸ¤·‍ā™€ļø

Rest up beautiful x

Yep! Only wear low rise jeans as I hate having things cut through my belly

Beryl Dawn Smith šŸ‘Œ

Yes can’t stand anything tight around my waist! šŸ˜”

I’m the same and yes it sucks:(

This also happens to me ā˜¹ļø

Hate hate high waist.

If joints are sore maybe it something else like dairy or nightshades

Money is tight right now (can I get an amen?? šŸ˜…) so Iā€™m here to get creative to still enjoy delicious meals and support the incredible gluten free brands dedicated to making the products and we love and foods we miss! šŸ™Œ

With prices on the rise all around, I still want to find ways to support the incredible GF brands I love. šŸ’› On the weekend, our family took one New Chinese Garden - Complete Gluten Free Meal Kits Lemon Chicken yum and bulked it out for the whole family! And it was ready in 20 mins - steaming rice included!!! šŸ’Æ

šŸ‘‰This entire meal for three people cost a total of $13 and it felt luxurious and nostalgic. Where are my Chinese food lovers??

One packet of New Chinese Garden Lemon Chicken, steamed rice, steamed broccoli and a smattering of spring onionsā€¦ delicious!!! Find them at many independent grocers and Woolies across Australia!

If you can manage, letā€™s support our favourite gluten free brands and businesses so they can continue to make their incredible products. If purchasing isnā€™t an option for you at this time, even just sharing on socials helps keep businesses growing and doesnā€™t cost a thing.

Hugs to everyone doing it tough at the moment!

Alex and Liv, circa 2013 šŸ‘‰ Yes, Alex took me skydiving for our second date šŸ˜…šŸ˜‚ Alex was forced to get very creative with dates at the start of our relationship 1. Because heā€™s a fun guy and 2. Because my food anxiety was so bad I wouldnā€™t let him take me on a food-related dateā€¦

In 2013, I was struggling with a debilitating anxiety around the fear of getting sick to the point I would feel sick before even eating. This was three years into being diagnosed with coeliac disease and I honestly felt like I was never going to feel well and confident around food, in or out of my own home, again. I am so glad to say I did eventually get my food anxiety under control and my body feeling really good and am SO GLAD Iā€™ve only ever dipped into this space again.

If this story resonates with you, I want you to know that I really really get it and Iā€™m so sorry youā€™re going through this right now. If youā€™ve got coeliac disease, or are strictly gluten free for any reason, and looking for a way to:
āœ”ļø Understand more about coeliac disease and how it impacts your body
āœ”ļø How to FULLY avoid it
āœ”ļø Gain clarity on ready complex food labels
āœ”ļø Know GF facts and myths
āœ”ļø Have the opportunity to ask me any questions you have
Yum Gluten Free is hosting a live virtual webinar this Thursday: Gluten Freeā€¦ Now What?!

For more details and to register, click the link: offers.yumglutenfree.com/gluten-free-now-what-workshop

ā¤ļøMost importantly, if youā€™re in this low low head space that I wasā€¦ please considering booking into your GP and consider seeing a psychologist. Iā€™ve never done anything better for all areas of my life ā¤ļø
